Recently, we completed a stunning synthetic turf installation for a client on Maloney Way in City Beach. Like many homes in the area, the property had a beautiful outdoor space, but transforming it required some extra ground preparation to ensure the new lawn would remain perfectly level and sink-free for years to come.
During the excavation phase, our team encountered a hidden challenge that required our expertise to fix before any turf could be laid.
During this installation, we found a soft spot where an old tree used to be, so we took extra measures, including digging down half a metre, removing roots and organic matter, and filling the hole with extra roadbase and additional compaction.
Taking these extra steps is a crucial part of our process. If soft spots and rotting organic matter are ignored and simply paved or turfed over, the ground will eventually subside, leading to an uneven, sunken lawn. By over-excavating, bringing in heavy-duty roadbase, and utilising rigorous compaction techniques, we guarantee a rock-solid foundation.
